ZION – Keeping with a tradition spanning more than two decades, The Knights of Columbus Council 13598 donated the proceeds from their annual Tootsie Roll Drive to NorthPointe on Jan. 21 at Our Lady of Humility Church in Beach Park.

Grand Knight Joe McGrath presented NorthPointe CEO Dina Donohue-Chase with a check for $2,000, which NorthPointe will use to help fund its services and programs.

The 2017 Tootsie Roll Drive was conducted Aug. 11 and 12 outside of Zion’s Jewel location and Sept. 15 and 16 at Zion’s Walgreens and Piggly Wiggly locations. Joined in part by NorthPointe volunteers, Knights of Columbus members passed out Tootsie Rolls in order to promote and monetarily support NorthPointe’s mission of empowering individuals with disabilities and/or mental illness to achieve their dreams.
