GURNEE – A Wadsworth woman was killed Feb. 10 when her car was involved in a crash with a semi-trailer on Route 41, authorities said.
Jolanta Kubala, 70, of Wadsworth was driving a Mitsubishi Endeavor at 7:20 p.m. Feb. 10 when it was involved in a crash with a semi-trailer at the intersection of Route 21, according to a news release from the Lake County Coroner’s Office. Kubala was taken to Advocate Condell Medical Center, where the Coroner’s Office responded for a death investigation.
A preliminary autopsy conducted by the Coroner’s Office on Feb. 11 indicates that she died of blunt force injuries caused by a motor vehicle crash. Toxicology results are pending.
“The investigation into her death continues by our office, the Gurnee Police Department and the Major Crash Assistance Team,” Dr. Howard Cooper, Lake County coroner, said in a news release. “We have been in close contact with Ms. Kubala’s family and our deepest condolences go out to them during this difficult time.”
