Cleaners offers free laundry for health care workers, first responders

WESTCHESTER – As part of Gov. JB Pritzker’s stay-at-home order, dry cleaners and laundry services are designated as “essential.”

All 34 Chicago-area CD One Price Cleaners will remain open.

CD One Price Cleaners also is offering to do the laundry for health care workers, police, firefighters and EMTs so they can remain focused on serving the community. Any front-line health care worker, police office, firefighter or EMT with a valid ID can have 20 pounds of wash and fold laundry sorted, washed, dried, and folded for free every week through the end of April.

“This is the least our brand and franchise owners can do in the wake of what is going on,” co-founder and CEO Rafiq Karimi Jr. said. “It’s an honor and a privilege to be able to give back to our community, and more importantly, keep our health care workers and first responders focused on the health and well-being of our community.”
